Spray Polyurethane Foam Insulation (SPF)

SPF is the best insulation product on the market. It has the highest “R” value per square inch of any commercial insulation product ; it completely seals out drafts, moisture, mold, pollen, dust and pests; adheres to almost any surface, and strengthens the structural integrity of buildings. It will not settle or sag over time and will it never wear out. SPF acts as a sound barrier and can pay for itself in energy savings in five years or less.

SPF is produced by a chemical reaction when two liquid components, isocyanate and polyol resin, are combined. When the two liquids are mixed together a chemical reaction occurs creating rigid or semi-rigid foam. The mixing process takes place in the spray gun into which each liquid flows through a separate hose. The mixed liquid starts to react in seconds, expanding 20 to 30 times its liquid state, and in a matter of seconds it solidifies into polyurethane foam.

Studies have shown that as much as 40% of a building's energy loss is due to heat loss or gain through walls, roofs and windows. SPF creates a seamless air seal for your home or building with R-values ranging to 7.0 per inch (twice the efficiency of fiberglass). This contributes to significant energy savings throughout the life of a building and even allows the owner to switch to smaller capacity cooling and heating equipment.
